ESTATE, ASSET AND BUSINESS SUCCESSION PLANNING (INCLUDING PREPARATION OF WILLS AND POWERS OF ATTORNEY)
Estate planning has become a focus of Gary’s practice. He welcomes instructions to advise you in relation to your estate planning needs and prepares wills from the most simple to more complex wills incorporating testamentary discretionary trusts. He advises on and prepares powers of attorney.
When necessary, Gary’s advice extends to a consideration of assets which do not pass under a will such as assets held in a family trust or held by a family company and general business succession planning.
Gary attends to administration of deceased estates including obtaining probate of wills from the Supreme Court of Queensland where necessary.
He understands that the period following the loss of a family member is an emotional time and prides himself in assisting to administer and distribute estates with a minimum of fuss.
Gary has acted for landlords of shopping centres, commercial and office premises in preparation of agreement to lease and lease documents and associated ongoing management issues such as lease renewals, consents to assignment of lease, rent review negotiations and lease enforcement.
On behalf of tenants, Gary has negotiated the terms of new leases and attended to lease renewals, assignments of lease, etc.
BUSINESS SALES AND PURCHASES
Gary has acted in relation to the sale and purchase of a variety of businesses. He considers and advises on related issues such as business licence requirements, leasing and the practical logistics of business handover.
Gary has attended to conveyances of shopping centres, office buildings and other commercial premises as well as many residential properties.
He understands that every conveyance is a very important transaction with high stakes and maintains direct management of all conveyancing for his clients.
